Podbean provides podcast statistics in your dashboard to help you understand your podcast performance and audience behavior. 


This guide explains how to use the Statistics Overview page and what each section shows.


From your podcast dashboard, go to Statistics -> Overview.


Use the time selector at the top of the page to set the date range for the statistics and charts.


Note: The time selector applies to all sections except User Retention.




Here’s a brief description of each section (click the titles below to get more details):


  • Podcast Trends
    See how your podcast is performing with stats like downloads, listeners, new followers and interaction.

  • Latest Episodes / Top Episodes
    Switch between your latest episodes and top-performing episodes to see what’s new and what’s resonating most with your audience.

  • Where Your Audience Comes From
    Discover where in the world your listeners are tuning in.

  • Platforms
    Find out which devices your listeners are using.

  • Download Sources
    Sources of your downloads such as Apple Podcasts, browsers, or specific podcast apps.

  • Most Active Times
    Spot the days and hours when your podcast gets the most downloads.

  • User Retention
    Offers a view of listener loyalty in the Podbean app.





Podcast Trends shows how your podcast performs during the selected time range.


This section includes downloads, listeners, new followers, and interaction data:


  • Downloads
    Counts every time the episode file is accessed — including downloads and online streaming.

  • Listeners
    The total number of daily listeners, summed across all days (Data is available for up to 24 months).

  • New Followers
    The number of net new followers per day, summed across all days (Data available from January 2023 onward).

  • Interaction
    The number of likes and comments your podcast received (Data available from January 2023 onward). 




Latest Episodes / Top Episodes


View the downloads for your latest 5 episodes.

  • Click "Compare Performance" in the top-right corner to compare episode performance.
  • Click an episode title to explore its download trends in detail.


View the top 5 episodes by downloads.

  • Click "View More" in the top-right corner to view the full episode trends.
  • Click an episode title to explore its download trends in detail.




Where Your Audience Comes From


Where Your Audience Comes From shows audience location data with a map and a list of downloads by country.


Use this geographic breakdown to tailor promotions or content to regions where your listeners are concentrated, boosting local engagement! See more details here.

See which devices (like Android or iOS) your listeners use. Leverage this device info to optimize your podcast’s format or settings for the device your audience uses most, ensuring a smooth experience.

Download Sources shows where your downloads come from, such as Apple Podcasts, browsers, or specific podcast apps.


Focus your marketing efforts on the directories driving the most downloads, tweaking ads or posts to grow your reach where it matters most!

Most Active Times


Most Active Times shows when your podcast receives the most downloads.


  • Most Active Time by Days: Average downloads per weekday.
  • Most Active Time by Hours: Click the ‘bar’ of a weekday to view hourly activity.


Analyzing active days and hours helps identify peak engagement times, so you can schedule releases and promotions for maximum impact. See more details here.

User Retention


User retention gives you an insight into listener loyalty within the Podbean app. 


Hover over the chart to see the number of listeners and retention percentage for each week or month, based on the most recent seven weeks or months.
