1. Pick a quiet place to avoid noise.
2. Keep a certain distance (6-12 inches) from the microphone when you’re speaking into it. You may read up on the type of microphone you are using for the best practices and test your sound.
3. Use a pop filter to block the air blowing in the mic and plosive sounds, and place it at least an inch or two away from the mic.
4. Keep the microphone far away from the bare walls, surround yourself with enough soft furnishings or fabrics, or attach soundproof panels or fabrics to the walls. Hard surfaces and empty spaces tend to create echoes.
5. Place the microphone tightly on the microphone stand or shock mount.
