1. When you download the raw data analytics it shows from which platform the users access the podcast. It sometimes says LinkedIn and sometimes a browser is mentioned. We would like to know if “LinkedIn” means that it’s only accessed via the LinkedIn app or if it also includes accessing the podcast via LinkedIn through a browser or if this is counted under Google Chrome, Firefox etc.

Answer: Downloads made via a browser will be recorded as coming from the browser itself, not from any specific website such as LinkedIn. If the podcast is played through an app, it will be recorded as the agent name provided by the source, such as LinkedIn. If the podcast is played through a browser that is built into an app, then it is the app that decides how the downloads will be recorded, as a browser or as LinkedIn.
Podbean tracks the agent names supplied by the source and displays them in our logs exactly as they were given.
2. Questions: Unfamiliar or unknown platforms or agents in stats
Answer: As for the source of the downloads, our system tracks and displays the platforms on which your listeners played/downloaded your episodes. These are the agent names that are provided by the source and show in our logs exactly as the source provides it. Some are quite obvious such as Apple Podcasts, and well-known podcast apps but some will be small or more obscure sources.
