Targeting your audience allows you to focus your ads on a specific niche. By reaching people who are most likely to be interested in your product or service, you can improve engagement and make your advertising more effective, ensuring you get the best results from your budget.
Podbean offers several targeting options to help you reach the right audience. As you create your campaign, you'll come across the “Targeting” section. If you need to make adjustments, click the "Edit" in the top right corner to access the detailed settings.
Option 1: Choose Your Audience's Locations
You can select specific countries or regions where you want your ads to be heard. This means that only listeners in your chosen locations will receive your ads.
If your business operates in certain areas or if your content is tailored for audiences in specific regions or languages, targeting by location is crucial.
For example, a language learning app designed for French speakers would benefit from targeting listeners in French-speaking regions only.

Option 2: Choose Your Audience's Listening Devices
Target listeners based on the devices they're using—such as iOS mobile devices, Android mobile devices, or other platforms. Only those using the specified devices will hear your ads.
For example, if you’re promoting an app that is exclusively available on the iOS App Store, it would make sense to target listeners using iOS devices.
Option 3: Choose the Relevant Podcast Categories
Select podcast categories that best match your advertising goals or that share a similar audience demographic. For example, if you are marketing a fitness product, targeting podcasts under the Health & Fitness category would be strategic.
In the next step of creating your campaign, “Select Podcasts”, you can further select specific podcasts within your chosen categories to advertise on. You also have the option to adjust the categories at that point.
