In this guide, we'll explain what a Frequency Cap is and how you can use it effectively in your podcast advertising campaign on Podbean.

What is Frequency Cap?

A Frequency Cap is a setting that limits the number of times a single listener hears your ad within a specific time frame. This helps prevent overexposure, ensuring your audience doesn’t hear your ad too often, which can keep your message fresh and engaging.

Choosing the Frequency Cap for Your Campaign

In the “Budget & Scheduling” section, you'll find the “Frequency cap” options.

Podbean allows you to set a maximum number of times you want a listener to hear your ad each week. You have the flexibility to choose from 3, 5, or 7 times per week, or you can opt for no limit.

Setting a lower frequency cap is beneficial if you want to avoid repetition, reach more unique listeners, and maintain a steady presence without overwhelming your audience. This approach helps keep your message fresh over time.

On the other hand, a higher frequency cap or no limit is ideal for time-sensitive messages or urgent calls to action, providing maximum exposure and ensuring that your ad gets noticed quickly and frequently.

By default, Podbean sets the frequency at 5 times per week, which is a moderate setting suitable for reinforcing your message effectively without being too repetitive.
