Podbean AI Audio Optimization is an AI-powered tool designed to automatically enhance your podcast audio quality. It helps creators save time on post-production while delivering a clean, professional, and enjoyable listening experience for their audience.

What is Podbean AI Audio Optimization

Podbean AI applies multiple audio enhancement techniques to improve your recordings:

Noise Reduction

Eliminate unwanted noises from your podcast recordings. Enjoy a polished sound that enhances the overall listening experience.

Intelligent Leveler

Adjust volume levels between speakers, music, and speech, creating a well-balanced and enjoyable podcast.

Cut Filler Words and Silence

Trim silent segments, pauses, and filler words such as “ah”, “uhm”, “mh”, or “ähm” for a smoother flow.

Filtering & AutoEQ

Remove undesirable frequencies and sibilance (De-Esser), producing a clear, warm, and pleasant audio experience.

How it Works

  1. Sign in to your Podbean account, go to your Dashboard, and navigate to Episodes → Episode List to click New Episode.

  2. On the episode publish page, toggle on AI Audio Optimization.
Optimizing 1 hour of audio costs 600 AI credits.

  3. Choose an audio file to upload and let Podbean AI process it automatically.

  4. Processing may take a few minutes or longer, depending on the file size.
You’ll receive an email notification once processing is complete, and you can also check the AI episode status on the Episode List page.

Customize your AI Audio Optimization settings

On the episode publish page, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the AI box to access the AI Settings page.

Under Audio Options, you can choose different denoising methods and control whether silence and filler words are removed from your audio file.

  1. Denoising Method:Define whether the AI should remove only static or also fast-changing noises, and whether it should keep or eliminate music.
    1. Static: Remove constant noises only.
    2. Dynamic (Default): Keep speech and music, remove everything else.
    3. Speech Isolation: Keep speech, remove everything else.

  2. Cut Silence (On by default): It detects and removes silent segments from your recording that might be caused by speech breaks, pauses for breathing, or equipment re-adjusting.

  3. Cut Fillers (On by default): It detects and removes filler words such as “um”, “uh”, “mh”, German “ähm”, “äh”, “öh”, French “euh”, Spanish “eh”, and similar.

The settings will be applied when you publish new episodes using AI Audio Optimization.  Additionally, if you have multiple podcast channels, you can set up different AI settings for each channel.
