With a one-time setup, Podbean can automatically deliver your video episodes to Apple Podcasts in adaptive bitrate (HLS) format, helping ensure smoother playback and better performance across devices.
This feature is available for Podbean Unlimited Plus plans and above.
Follow the steps below to set up Apple Podcasts HLS video streaming in Podbean.
Step 1. Confirm your Apple Podcasts setup

Step 1. Confirm your Apple Podcasts setup
Before enabling HLS video streaming, make sure your podcast has already been submitted to Apple Podcasts.
- If you haven’t submitted your podcast yet, please refer to this guide to submit your podcast to Apple Podcasts and claim your podcast on Apple Podcasts.
- If you’ve submitted your podcast on your own, go to your Podbean Dashboard > Distribution > Podcasts App > Apple Podcasts to save your Apple Podcasts URL.
Step 2. Get your Apple Podcasts API Key
Once your podcast is available in Apple Podcasts Connect, follow Apple’s instructions to download your Apple Podcasts API key.
Be sure to save the key file to your computer safely after downloading it.
Step 3. Upload your API Key in Podbean
Go to Distribution > Podcast Apps > Apple Podcasts page, Apple Podcasts HLS Video Streaming section in Podbean.
- Click Upload API Key.
- Select the API key file you downloaded.
- Click Save.

Once the key is uploaded successfully, Podbean will automatically deliver newly published video episodes to Apple Podcasts using HLS adaptive streaming.
